Engineering Philosophy

We design networks that scale, survive, and adapt, engineered around first principles, not vendor defaults or sales promises.

03 / The Practice
About Foundry

We design networks that scale, survive, and adapt, for the organisations that can't afford to get infrastructure wrong.

Foundry Networks & Services is an engineering-led practice for enterprise network architecture, security, cloud and data centre design, and the hands-on delivery that makes it real. We partner with technical and executive teams to turn complex, high-stakes requirements into infrastructure that performs, from global WAN and SD-WAN programmes to Azure landing zones, Zero Trust security, and resilient data centre fabrics, and we stay for the build: implementation, migration, and co-managed engineering inside your team.

We bring AI into the network itself: AIOps, AI tooling and AI-driven automation that turn telemetry into foresight and make change repeatable, reviewable and safe. Engagements are led by a senior architect and grounded in engineering rigour, not marketing. We work as an extension of your team, and the result is infrastructure you can trust, documented, observable, and built to evolve.

Engineering-led
You work with the architect who designs, builds and co-manages your network, not a salesman
AI-driven
AIOps, AI tooling and automation built into how we design and operate
Zero Trust
Security and segmentation designed in from the first diagram
SC-cleared
Equipped to deliver on sensitive and regulated programmes
04 / Software
Software

Software, engineered in-house.

Foundry builds its own tools. Workspace runs the practice, CloudLabs builds VPN and cloud lab environments on demand, and ShellMate is the terminal a network engineer works in.

Practice operations

Workspace

The professional-services operations platform Foundry runs on, built in-house and available to practices like yours.

  • Skills tracking

Capability matrices that keep skills current and searchable.

  • Booking & staffing

The right engineer on the right work, with availability in one view.

  • Time tracking

Time recorded against engagements as it happens.

  • Rate cards

Roles, rates and margins defined once and applied consistently.

  • Helpdesk

Requests tracked from raise to resolution, with clear ownership.

  • AI assistance

Drafts, summarises and finds what you need across the platform.

Network & cloud labs

CloudLabs

An on-demand WireGuard VPN headend and cloud lab platform for Azure and AWS. One click builds the endpoint, proves the tunnel works and tears it all down when you're finished, so the cloud bill goes back to zero.

  • On-demand headend

Terraform builds and destroys the WireGuard endpoint through GitHub Actions.

  • Self-testing tunnels

Every boot checks handshake, DNS and internet reachability before handover.

  • Clients by QR

Phones and laptops added in seconds, with live status and latency.

  • Firewall and capture

Zone-based rules, published ports and packet capture from the dashboard.

  • Cost control

Live session cost, a monthly budget and automatic teardown.

  • Cloud labs

    86 hands-on labs across Azure and AWS, including AZ-104, AZ-305 and AZ-700.

Network engineering terminal

ShellMate

A split-screen SSH, serial and telnet terminal with an AI assistant that can see your session, on your own API key. Portable for Windows, with nothing to install.

  • Up to 16 terminals on screen

SSH, serial and telnet in split layouts of up to 16 at once, with unlimited tabs.

  • An assistant that sees the session

Reads the live output and suggests the next command. Nothing reaches a device until you click.

  • Playback, history and drift

Every session recorded, searchable and replayable, with configurations compared so drift is flagged on reconnect.

  • Monitoring

ICMP, TCP and HTTP monitors with latency, jitter, loss and MOS, and a trace to the hop misbehaving.

  • File servers built in

TFTP, FTP and SFTP from one folder, with the copy command written for the device.

  • Ansible and OpenTofu

Broadcast commands, playbooks and Azure or AWS builds, each planned, approved and recorded.
